Our mission

The main objective of the COVOICE-19 project is the development of models based on Artificial Intelligence, to support activities in the clinical contexts of rapid diagnosis and prognosis in suspected or detected cases of COVID-19, respectively.

The creation of this web application enables the development of tools, based on Artificial Intelligence methods, to assist the rapid detection of COVID-19 cases from home by the general population, thus promoting a faster social distance and voluntary confinement, thus contributing to reducing the risk of contagion.

Important note: This web application only collects data for scientific research purposes within the COVOICE-19 project, not offering any medical advice.

Collection, processing and storage of data

This web application will collect basic demographic data, medical history and a voice sample by completing and submitting a form. These data will be strictly necessary for the pursuit of the purpose that motivated their collection and processing.

All data collected through forms are completely anonymous and contain the respective safeguard clauses that comply with the provisions of the data protection regulations. After submitting the form, the data are transferred in encrypted form and stored on the servers of NOVA University of Lisbon.

For the purposes of scientific research within the COVOICE-19 project, these data will be processed using appropriate software tools for this purpose. This data processing includes collecting, registering, consulting, using, disclosing, storing and destroying them.

Subsequently, the COVOICE-19 project aims to create subsets of anonymous data that can be made available to the scientific community, in order to promote the advancement of research on the subject in question.
